ATHENS - Another resignation in less than two weeks has the Athens-Clarke County Police Department looking for a new leader according to the Athens Banner Herald.
The Athens newspaper reports that on September 13th Police Chief Scott Freeman submitted a forced resignation. He was replaced by Deputy Police Chief Justin Gregory on an interim basis.
The Banner Herald says that 23-year veteran Gregory then submitted his resignation on Friday.
Gregory says his decision to leave the department is not related to Freeman's earlier resignation.
