New rendering released in human remains case out of Buford

An updated image has been released of some unidentified human remains located in Buford in July of 2015.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Forensic Artist Kelly Lawson reevaluated the case and work with the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office to update the image.

The man was estimated to be between 25 and 40 years of age at the time of death and 5'3'' to 5'7''. He had no personal effects or clothing when he was located due to the amount of time the body was there and exact information about his hair color or length and skin tone are not known, according to a press release.

Additionally, he had multiple composite fillings and one root canal involving a tooth of the lower jaw. There were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play and the Medical Examiner is still unable to determine a cause of death.

In March of 2017, four additional bones were located at the scene. At that point, the Medical Examiner theorized the man may have been associated with the contractors responsible for the nearby subdivisions.

The remains were located July 2015 in a wooded area between Satellite Boulevard and Buford Highway near Suwanee Creek in Buford and had been there for several years.
