Hearing to be held in Banks Co. Superior Court in House District 28 challenge

By AccessWDUN Staff

A hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 in Banks County Superior Court to hear State Rep. Dan Gasaway's challenge to the May 22 primary election - a race he lost by just 67 votes.

Gasaway wants a new election after errors came to light with Habersham County votes.

County officials recently acknowledged errors were made on some ballots, resulting in some voters getting ballots for another house district, rather than House District 28, which Gasaway represents.

House District 28 encompasses parts of Banks, Habersham and Stephens counties. Officials in Banks and Stephens counties have said there were no errors in their primary elections.

AccessWDUN's Rob Moore will be in the courtroom and will have updates throughout the proceedings.
