HAYESVILLE, N.C. — Towns County scored 27 unanswered points after halftime to notch a 55-24 defeat of Hayesville (North Carolina) on Friday in the Indians' season opener.

The Indians (1-0) used a strong performance from senior quarterback Trent Bradshaw -- who ran 11 times for 181 yds and 3 TDs while also completing 6-of-9 passes for 118 yds and 2 TDs -- to pull away.

Towns County led just 28-24 at halftime but put a stranglehold on the contest after the interval.

The Indians have a week off before playing host to Union County on Aug. 31.
