Three people have been arrested in connection with a home invasion and robbery earlier this year in Lula, while a fourth suspect remains on the run, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office (HCSO).
Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware said the incident happened around 5 o'clock the morning of January 22, 2018, at a home in Lula.
"Christopher Blaine Ward, 30, of Atlanta and James Henry Kelley, 38, of Virginia, forcefully and unlawfully entered a home located in the 5900 block of Chattahoochee Street in Lula," Ware said in a press statement.
He said both men were armed with handguns and both wore masks. They brandished the guns at the three occupants of the home.
"One of the male victims was struck in the head with a handgun during the robbery," Ware said.
The men were able to get away with approximately $100,000 in cash that was being kept inside a safe at the house.
Before the home invasion, two Lula residents - a husband and wife - conspired with Ward and Kelley to commit the crime, according to Ware.
He identified them as Amanda Ashley Tyson, 33, and James Glenn Tyson, 36. Ware said Amanda Tyson was acquainted with the victims in the case.
After nearly seven months of investigation, detectives were able to arrest Amanda Tyson and James Tyson on August 8. Both have been charged with conspiracy to commit home invasion and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Both remain in the Hall County Jail with no bond.
Meanwhile, Ware said on August 10, Ward was arrested at the Atlanta Police Department and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping and home invasion. Ward was transported to the Hall County Jail and he remains in custody with no bond.
At this time, Kelley remains at large. Authorities have issued arrests warrants for home invasion, armed robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Ware said the stolen money has not been recovered.
