A boat caught fire and burned near Gainesville Marina Tuesday afternoon.
Hall County Fire Services Captain Zachary Brackett said the boat caught fire around 5:15 PM just south of the Dawson Highway Bridge.
He said the one person on the boat was a 60-year-old man who did jump into the water and was pulled out by nearby bystanders.
Bracket said the man was not injured.
He said the flaming boat was towed to Simpson Park to be extinguished by fire personnel.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene. Brackett said the Hall County Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
