Deputies: Hall County man fractured stepson's leg, mother let broken arm go untreated

A Hall County couple are facing charges in connection to a case of child cruelty that left a four-year-old boy with a fractured leg, broken arm and bruised face.

Bobby Franklin Lomax, Jr., 28, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly fracturing his stepson's leg and beating the child in the head and face, according to Lt. Scott Ware, Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

On Friday, the boy's biological mother, Nikki Renee Lomax, 28, was also taken into custody for failing "to report that Bobby Lomax had beaten the child to the extent that he, the child, had previously suffered a broken arm, which had been left untreated."

The couple, who are from the Gainesville area, also failed to give the child his prescribed seizure medication.

Bobby Lomax is charged with first degree child cruelty and aggravated battery, while Nikki Lomax is charged with second degree child cruelty.

Ware said it appears that Bobby Lomax is responsible for the physical abuse, but Nikki Lomax failed to report it to authorities and get the child proper medical care.

Nikki Lomax remained in jail at last report on $11,200 bond. Bobby Lomax also remained in jail at last report.
