By B.J. Williams

A 19-year-old woman from Cumming is the victim of a car crash early Wednesday morning on the south side of Forsyth County

In a press statement, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said the fatal crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Ronald Reagan Boulevard near the intersection of Old Atlanta Road.

Deputy First Class Andy Ives, a Traffic Investigator with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, said it appeared Cristina Cruz was driving her 2013 Chevrolet Camaro SS northbound on Reagan Parkway when she failed to negotiate a curve. She traveled off the road and hit a tree.

Cruz was taken to North Fulton Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An obituary from McDonald & Son Funeral Home said Cruz was a graduate of Forsyth Central High School. She was a waitress at a local restaurant.
