By AccessWDUN Staff
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday night the agency had been called in to lead the investigation of an officer-involved shooting in Forsyth County.

According to the Georgia News Network, the deadly shooting happened on the west side of the county just after 10 p.m. A man involved in a domestic dispute with his wife was shot and killed by deputies.

CBS46 was able to interview Forsyth County Sheriff's Cpl. Doug Rainwater at the scene of the shooting on Carbonne Court.

Rainwater told the TV station a woman who lived at the residence called 911. When deputies arrived, she invited them inside the house. Her husband appeared in the kitchen carrying a gun, according to Rainwater, and it was at that point one of the deputies shot and killed the husband.

The identities of those involved have not been released.

GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said in an email she will release more information later in the day Wednesday.
