Howard rebounds for Anderson Mini-Stock Madness win

On Friday night, the Mini-Stock division moved into the spotlight at Anderson Motor Speedway, as the Williamston, South Carolina raceway hosted “Mini-Stock Madness” at the 3/8 mile asphalt track.

For Ryan Howard, it proved to be a big night, as the Pelzer, South Carolina speedster powered from the fifth starting position to score the victory in the 40 lap feature for the 4-Cylinder powered racers.

Howard came back from an incident just past the 10 lap mark that sent him to the pits. He would return with the front end of the car missing. He would power back to the lead from the back of the field, holding off pole sitter Ben Kay en route to the win.

It would mark the second win of the season for Howard, who also visited victory lane back on April 20.

Ben Burnett finished in third, Bobby Brock in fourth and Brad Burdette in fifth.

Jeff Turner, Bryan Mitchell, Chad Campbell, Chuck Mitchell and Mitchell Stone rounded out the top ten.

Bryan Mitchell also visited victory lane as a Mini-Stock winner, taking the win earlier in the evening in the 11 lap “Dash For Cash.” Brock followed him to the finish line in second, with Chase Morrison in third, Chris Whitfield in fourth and Turner in fifth.

In other action, Devin Kelley was the winner in the Limited feature. Jackie Manley finished second, with Billy Brown third, Michael Bruton fourth and Rick Kelley in fifth.

Austin Northcutt took top honors in the BM Modifieds feature. Bryan Mitchell came home in second, with Jerry Bryant in third, Brandon Segars in fourth and Adam Callaham in fifth.

David Whitaker held off Chris Whitfield to score the Renegade feature victory. Chris Whitfield finished in second, followed by Mark Sullivan in third, Justin Southerlin in fourth and Chad Watt in fifth.

Connor Mosack scored the win in the US Legends feature. Karl Moberg, Lee Jordan, Scott Wessel and Cory Parham rounded out the top five.

Hunter Evans was the winner in the Front Wheel Drive feature. B.J. Davis was second, with Carey Smith third, Tommy Davis fourth and Manual Molleda fifth.

Anderson Motor Speedway returns to action on Friday, June 22, highlighted by a pair of 40 lap features for the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Cars.
