HELEN — The annual Shriners Parade brought participants from across North Georgia and even a unit from South Carolina to Helen on Saturday.
A rainshower an hour before the event and the added humidity it brought didn't diminish the smiles from young and old alike as they watched potentates and other dignitaries, motor units, clowns, trains and even a large pirate ship made their way through the streets of Georgia's Alpine Village.
At least 15 different Shrine clubs and a number of other units participated in Saturday's parade.
