PINE HALL, N.C. - Benji Hicks passed Joey Coulter in the closing laps of Friday night’s Bill Hicks Memorial for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series at 311 Motor Speedway in Pine Hall, North Carolina, and drove on to the victory.
It marks the first series victory of the Mount Airy, North Carolina native, worth $4,000.
Hicks started third, and closed on Coulter as the laps wound down. Hicks would make his move late in the going, then held Coulter at bay to take the victory.
Johnny Pursley finished in third, with Dennis Franklin in fourth and Tyler Millwood in fifth.
Kyle Hardy, Justin Williams, Zack Mitchell, Jeff Smith and Donald Bradsher rounded out the top ten.
The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will be back in action for a double header weekend on Friday, June 1 at Carolina Speedway in to Gastonia, North Carolina. That will be followed by a trip South Carolina’s Lancaster Speedway on Saturday, June 2.
