Equestrian center up for review at Monday's Hall County Planning Commission meeting

By B.J. Williams

When the Hall County Planning Commission meets Monday afternoon, commission members will be asked to approve an equestrian center on a piece of property in the southeastern part of the county.

The 86-acre tract is located on the north side of Roy Parks Road near the intersection of Talmo Road.

There is no need for rezoning, according to documents from the county planning staff, but the developer needs permission to board and care for horses on the property.

Honeybee Farm, LLC wants to board as many at 25 horses on the property, according to the application. The developer said there are no plans to change the property, other than making improvements to the existing buildings on the site, which includes three homes. The developer also intends to repair and maintain fencing on the property.

Other items on the May 21 agenda for the Hall County Planning Commission include:

  • An application for an automotive detailing business on Cleveland Highway at Old Cleveland Road
  • A rezoning request for a recreational facility and event center on Burton Circle at Barrett Road

The planning board meets at 5:15 p.m. at the Hall County Government Center at 2875 Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville.
