Woman shot in leg, man arrested in Lula altercation

By B.J. Williams
Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators are working to piece together details of a domestic incident that started in the Lula area Tuesday morning and ended with an arrest near the Hall-White County line.

Lt. Scott Ware with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said a suspect shot a woman in the leg with a BB or pellet gun. The suspect and the woman then drove away from the scene at Belton Bridge Road, according to Ware.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and the suspect ran from the scene. He was captured a short time later.

The White County Sheriff's Office assisted in the arrest.

Ware said the woman's injury was superficial and did not require medical transport or hospitalization.

Other details are expected later in the day.
