A Forsyth County man arrested just last week for possession of child pornography is now dead.
Arthur Durand Handley, Jr. was arrested April 23, according to reports from Atlanta media.
Fox 5 News reported there was a medical call to Handley's home on Saturday. He was rushed to Northside Forsyth Hospital, where he died shortly after he arrived.
Handley's death happened just four days after he left the Forsyth County Jail on a $66,000 bond.
Handley had a long career in law enforcement beginning in 1996, according to media reports. He had worked with the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office, Albany Police, Smyrna Police, Cobb County Police and Alpharetta Police. He apparently resigned from the Alpharetta Police Department in 2016.
Cause of death for the 42-year-old Handley has not yet been determined.
