Loganville city government victim of cyber attack

The City of Loganville said Monday that an attack on the city's computer that may have compromised personal information.
 
A post on the city's Facebook page spelled out there is no evidence the hackers took information that would include Social Security numbers and financial account numbers, but acknowledged whoever pulled off the attack, would have had access to such information.
 
The post went on to say the city has contracted with a firm that specializes in computer forensics to determine the extent of the breach and what, if any, information was lifted.
 
In the meantime, the post warns that people who do business with the city government should keep a close eye on account activity and potential credit purchases or compromises.
 
In the post, the city apologized to anyone who is inconvenienced or harmed by the breach.
