Baseball: East Hall, North Hall notch 7-AAA victories; GHS takes out Jefferson

NORCROSS — The East Hall baseball team notched its second straight win over Greater Atlanta Christian, 3-1 on Wednesday in Norcross.

Levi Crocker earned the win for the Vikings (5-4, 2-0 Region 7-AAA), pitching a complete game while yielding just 1 run on 6 hits. He also struck out 6 batters. Crocker also helped lead the way at the plate, going 2 for 4. 

Trey Campbell also finished 2 for 4 with a run scored for East Hall, while Trevor Rider provided an RBI double and scored a run. Mikey Parker also finished 2 for 3 with an RBI.


NORTH HALL 10,
LUMPKIN COUNTY 0

Caleb Clark pitched a complete game, yielding just 2 hits, while striking out 11 Indians batters, to lead the Trojans (7-3, 2-0 Region 7-AAA) to the victory on Wednesday in Dahlonega.

David Seavey and Jackson Dyer each went 2 for 4 at the plate for North Hall, with Dyer driving in a run and scoring 2 runs. Seavey also scored a run. Caleb Wiley produced 1 hit and 3 RBI, while Caden Bales and Tyler Brooks each had a hit and 2 RBI. Reese Olson and Charlie Erickson also had hits.

The Trojans produced a five-run third inning and did the same in the sixth to put the contest out od reach.

North Hall will play host to Lumpkin County on Friday in Gainesville.


GAINESVILLE 7,
JEFFERSON 1

The Red Elephants scored five runs in the bottom of the third to help pull away for the win on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Kyle York earned the win on the mound for Gainesville, pitching 6 innings while allowing 4 hits and striking out 9 batters.

Brandon Trefren took the loss for the Dragons (6-3).

Jackson Kemp cranked a solo home run and finished 2 for 3 at the plate for the Red Elephants (6-4), while Dalton Kyle went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Cale Conley also had 2 hits and an RBI, while Cameron Wilson went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Charlie Wall had a hit and 2 RBI, and Collier Scott had a hit and RBI.

Sammy Elegreet had a hit and an RBI for Jefferson. Zac Corbin, Ryan Godfrey and Clayton Jones also had 1 hit apiece.

The two teams' third game, scheduled for Friday, has been cancelled (due to Gainesville's boys basketball team playing for a state title on Friday in Atlanta). The Red Elephants next face Heritage, Conyers, on Saturday in a doubleheader at Ivey-Watson Field.

Jefferson, meanwhile, will host Flowery Branch on March 14.
