State fugitive officers looking for Gainesville inmate

By B.J. Williams
Hall County Warden Walt Davis has taken out an escape warrant for an inmate who failed to return to the Hall County Transitional Center Monday evening.

Davis identified the inmate as Eric Blair, 35, of Gainesville. Right now, the state fugitive squad is looking for Blair, according to Davis.

"Once he is taken into custody, that [warrant] will be served upon him and he will be returned to the state prison system and facing prosecution here in Hall County for felony escape," Davis said.

Under the transitional program, Blair was working a job in the Gainesville area and taking classes at Lanier Technical College.

Davis said Blair went to work on Monday and went to class, as well, but he hasn't been seen since about 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Blair was serving a sentence for various drug offenses, and Davis said he is not considered dangerous. If anyone sees Blair or knows where he might be, Davis said they can call 911 with information,
