Truck driver charged in 11-car pileup that killed woman on Queen City Parkway

A truck driver from McDonough is facing charges for an 11-car pileup on Queen City Parkway in Gainesville that killed a Forsyth County woman in November 2017.

Anthony Douglas Teague, 41, is charged with homicide by vehicle (2nd degree), following too closely and driving too fast for conditions, said Sgt. Kevin Holbrook, Gainesville Police public information officer.

Teague, who at last report was not in custody, was driving a tractor trailer when the wreck happened near West Ridge Road, a wreck initially believed to be the result of the foggy weather in the area that morning.

Nicole Rocafort, 24, of Cumming died from injuries she sustained in the wreck; her car was rear-ended by Teague's truck.

10 other people were injured. On the morning of the wreck, only Rocafort's injuries were described as serious. Three others were involved in the wreck, but were not injured.

"Our heartfelt condolences continue to go out the family of Nicole and all those injured during this crash. Investigations of this nature are always difficult and lengthy. We will continue to work with all parties involved to hopefully bring peace and closure," said Holbrook in a statement.
