*Mathus Academy will host the 2018 Georgia Milestones Math prep tests for 3rd-8th grade students on March 24 at Cumming Elementary Schoo. These prep tests are free of cost for all Georgia students in grades 3-8. These tests will provide practice for the Georgia Milestones tests that will be conducted in the state's public schools in April.  To register, visit www.mathusacademy.com or contact Mathus Academy at [email protected].

*U.S. Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) is hosting a benefits fair for veterans in Georgia's Ninth Congressional District February 21 at the Rabun County Civic Center from 1:00-3:00.  Caseworkers from Collins' office will be on hand to answer questions.

*The Forsyth County Fire Department invites local third-grade students to share their artistic talents while promoting a commitment to fire safety by participating in the eighth annual Forsyth County Fire Safety Poster Contest.  For complete details, email [email protected] or call Fire Prevention Training Officer Erin Long at (770) 205-4688.

*Gateway Domestic Violence Center is in the midst of planning for its biggest fundraiser of the year, Gateway to Hope!  It will be held March 23 at Chattahoochee Country Club and will include drinks and heavy hors-d'oeuvres and a silent auction.  Tickets, tables and sponsorship options are available for purchase on the Gateway website.

*The North Georgia Technical College Foundation recently received a $1,000 student scholarship donation from the Northeast Georgia Antique Auto and Truck Club. The Club has awarded $500 scholarships to two NGTC automotive students annually for over 16 years. This year’s winners are Jeremy Gay from Martin and Alex Hamilton of Dahlonega.

*Four of West Forsyth High School’s students are state winners at the All-State Art Symposium.  Abby Key, Audrey Nguyen, Maddie Skinner, and Kelsey Smith will attend the State Art Symposium taking place in Columbus, Georgia on March 10.
