Cherokee Bluff softball to hold informational meeting Feb. 25

The Cherokee Bluff softball program, which will start its inaugural season in fall 2018 when the new Hall County school opens, would like to invite Cherokee Bluff students interested in playing softball to a meeting on Feb. 25.

The meeting will take place at 4 p.m. at the Flowery Branch High School theater and is open to students attending high school, middle, and elementary school, including parents of players.

Members of the program coaching staff, led by Kristi Underwood, will introduce themselves, discuss their vision for the program, announce important dates, and even reveal sneak peaks of facility upgrades and uniforms.

Underwood will be entering her ninth year of coaching in 2018. Formerly an assistant coach at North Hall and Fannin County, Underwood played collegiately at LaGrange College and was part of a team named conference champions three consecutive years. Also on staff is assistant coach Kim Logan, an experienced varsity coach that also led the Maryville College program and was also a member of the LaGrange College softball team. Acting as assistant coach/pitching coach: is Marie Collop, who graduated last year from Berry College. Collop was a standout pitcher/hitter throughout her college career and recognized nationally for her play and academic achievements. She was nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year in 2017.
