No charges are expected in the death of a Jefferson man who was killed on Winder Highway (SR 11) in Jackson County Friday morning.
Cpl. Luke Mize with the Georgia State Patrol said the investigation shows William Thomas Womack, 38, was lying in the southbound lane of the road near Lewis Roberts Road when he was run over by a 2000 GMC Yukon. Womack died at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, identified as Richard Earl Lee of Jefferson, was not injured, according to Mize.
