Gwinnett County police have identified the driver of the SUV as Anita Mustafi, 27, of Lawrenceville. Her vehicle has been located, but Mustfi remains at large.

Original story: 10:49 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11:

A woman was run over and killed in a gas station parking lot on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth late Monday night, and Gwinnett County Police Department investigators are looking for a suspect in the case.

The incident happened just before 11 p.m., according to information released to the media by Gwinnett Police Cpl. Wilbert Rundles.

Rundles said when officers arrived at the scene, they found a 50-year-old black woman lying in the parking lot of the convenience store. She was taken to the hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

Rundles said after investigators reviewed video surveillance from the scene, it appeared the woman who was killed was one of two women involved in an altercation with the driver of an SUV.

"The suspect female went inside the gas station and paid for her gas and a few snack items," Rundles wrote. "An unidentified black male, which had parked a couple of pumps over from her, began talking to the female suspect.  A few moments later she begins to leave and has a verbal altercation with two black females that were at the pump next to her."

Rundles said the driver stopped her vehicle and the two black women appeared to try to open the vehicle door and start a physical fight with the driver.

"The suspect female flees by pulling around the gas pumps and one of the black females tries to block her in. The two black females again confront the suspect female. They open her vehicle door and a physical altercation ensues," Rundles said. "The suspect female backs up and one of the black females is struck by the vehicle door. She falls and is ultimately run over by the suspect vehicle."

Rundles said the woman in the SUV then fled the scene. The black male who was talking with the female suspect inside the store also left the scene.

Rundles said the woman they are looking for is light skinned, but they are unsure of her race. She appeared to be in her 20s. He hair is brown and was in a 'messy bun' style. She was wearing a dark-colored Mike hoodie with another jacket over it and matching sweatpants.

The name of the woman who was killed in the hit and run has not been released.

Rundles said investigators are asking anyone with information on the woman to contact detectives at 678-442-5653.  To remain anonymous, tipsters may contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.  Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.  The case number in the incident is 18-114649.
