Kesler announces Crunkleton will serve as Clarkesville Main Street director

CLARKESVILLE — Rabun County native Trudy Crunkleton has been selected as the new Clarkesville Main Street director, City Manager Barbara Kesler announced about noon Tuesday.

Crunkleton is a native of Tiger, who earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Georgia. During her career, she has worked for two other municipalities.

She has managed marketing, events, parks and recreation improvements, and has worked closely with civic organizations, according to Kesler.

“The interview team of Barbara Kesler, Mayor Barrie Aycock, Joey Duncan, and Brenda Speed agreed unanimously that Trudy has the experience and personality to successfully lead the Clarkesville Main Street program,” Kesler said.

Additionally, Crunkleton has experience with tourism and worked closely with Convention and Visitors Bureaus during her career. She will spend the month of December moving back to her family homeplace in Tiger.

“Trudy will start work on Jan. 2, 2019, and I know that you will all join me in welcoming her to Clarkesville,” Kesler said. “I am excited to have Trudy on our Clarkesville team.”

The position formerly was held by Mary Beth Horton, who left to serve as president of the Habersham Chamber of Commerce.
