Flowery Branch once again has a Post 3 Council member after the election of Leslie Jarchow last week.

At Thursday night's city council meeting, Jarchow was sworn in and sat in for her first council meeting.

"I think it went great, I'm impressed by the council and all of the city employees that have helped me to make sure that I'm up to speed on things so that I can make informed votes. I appreciate that greatly," Jarchow said after the meeting.

Jarchow beat Christine Worl in a special election for the Post 3 seat, which was vacated after Councilman Fred Richards died in June.

"I have a heart to serve," Jarchow said. "When I found out the seat was open, regrettably obviously at Mr. Richards' passing, I wanted to serve my community."

Jarchow joins sitting council members Joe Anglin, Christopher Mundy, Mary Jones and Amy Farrah.
