A family in Hall County lost their home to fire Sunday afternoon.
Hall County Fire Services Captain Zach Brackett said crews responded to a fire in the 3300 block of Greenleaf Lane in northeastern Hall County and found the single family home engulfed in flames and a nearby home effected by the heat.
According to Brackett, "Another structure was damaged slightly with the vinyl siding getting melted."
Brackett said the home suffered extensive damage and is considered a total loss. He explained that, "Initially they started an offensive operation in extinguishing the fire, but with the winds up today it pushed the fire across the attic. They had to back out and go defensive."
He said no one was injuried and the Red Cross is helping the 2 adults and 5 children that were displaced by the blaze.
