TIGER — Rabun County forced five turnovers and exploded for 56 first half points en route to a 63-6 demolition of Oglethorpe County Friday in Region 8-2A play.
With the win the Wildcats (8-1, 6-0 Region 8-2A) set up a showdown of region unbeatens next week with arch-rival Union County (9-0, 6-0) in Tiger for the region title.
Freshman quarterback Gunner Stockton was just 7 of 12 for 94 yards passing but five of the seven completions went for touchdowns. Brison Beck added 143 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
While the defense was forcing three punts and three turnovers on the Patriots first six possessions, Rabun County scored on its first seven possessions of the game.
Braxton Hicks caught three of Stockton’s TD passes and Sam Adams and Sutton Jones snared one touchdown catch apiece.
