BUFORD — Derrian Brown ran for two scores and Elijah Turner and Austin Turner each returned punts for touchdowns to lead Buford to a 61-0 shutout win over Walnut Grove Friday night in Region 8-5A action.
The win for the Wolves (7-2, 4-0 Region 8-5A) set the stage for next week’s season finale showdown with Clarke Central (6-3, 3-1) at Tom Riden Stadium for the region championship.
Brown scored on runs of 13 and 12-yards and Elijah Turner’s 54-yard punt return in the waning seconds of the first quarter gave the Wolves a 27-0 lead.
Aaron McLaughlin tosses a pair of touchdown passes, a 28-yarder to Drew Gutierrez in the first quarter and a 55-yard bomb to Xyre Wilson in the second quarter. Austin Turner’s 52-yard punt return pushed Buford’s lead to 48-0 by halftime.
