North Hall has record-setting night in rout of Vikings

By Nate Roys

RABBITTOWN — North Hall rolled into East Hall Stadium Friday night having outscored opponents 132-13 in the month of October. The Trojans continued their dominance with a record-setting 76-0 win over the Vikings in Region 7-3A action.

The 76 points is the most ever scored by a North Hall team and the 76-point margin also was the largest in Trojans history. Meanwhile, the win sets up a showdown against Dawson County next week to determine the No. 2 seed and home field advantage in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.

Daniel Jackson did it all for North Hall, scoring six of the 11 Trojan touchdowns. Jackson scored five times in the second quarter alone and finished as North Hall’s leading rusher, receiver and kickoff returner. Jackson ran for 134 yards on four carries and three touchdowns, caught one pass for 51 yards and a touchdown, returned a kickoff 82 yards for a score, and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

The Trojans (8-1, 4-1 Region 7-3A) were unstoppable on the ground with four ball carriers averaging over 12 yards per carry, and had five different players score. To go along with Jackson’s three rushing touchdowns, JT Fair, Drew Faulkner, Clark Howell and Tate Brooks each ran in one score a piece for the Trojans.

Fair also caught one pass for 33 yards and a touchdown, and had an interception.

East Hall (2-7, 1-4) gave North Hall great field position all night as the Trojans started six of their 10 first half scoring drives in Viking territory. The Vikings’ Cambren Harrison did the most damage racking up 97 yards on 19 carries.

The Vikings, who were eliminated from the playoffs with the loss, will close out the regular season next week on the road against Lumpkin County.
