A woman is recovering after being shot in Downtown Gainesville early Sunday morning.
Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook told AccessWDUN the shooting appears to be accidental. He said a group of relatives were at the intersection of Maple and Spring when one person pulled out a gun.
"When is was produced the firearm was accidentaly discharged," Holbrook said. "That is when the female was struck with a round."
He said the women was hit in the arm and was treated at a local hospital.
The man was arrested and could face several charges for the incident.
