By B.J. Williams

Circumstances surrounding the death of a person found in a creek at a Hoschton park remain unknown, but authorities have confirmed the person is a white adult male.

"A GBI autopsy has been completed and has revealed no immediate trauma," said Nelly Miles, spokeswoman for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, via email. "The lab is working to positively identify the male decedent."

Miles said it would likely be next week before a positive identification is made.

The GBI is assisting the Jackson County Sheriff's Office with the death investigation.

A visitor to Sell's Mill Park discovered the body in a creek around noon on Thursday.

Sell's Mill Park is located on Jackson Trail Road of Highway 53.
