Brenau officials retract "questionable language" sent to students

The administration at Brenau University apologizes for what it calls questionable language used to promote an upcoming Breast Cancer/Domestic Violence Fall Festival for students. 
 
In a recent edition of "This week at Brenau," a weekly list of events emailed to students on Fridays, students were invited to participate in games like "ring the boob" and "cop a feel."
 
Ben McDade, the Vice President for Marketing & Communications for the University, said Student Services immediately retracted the email after seeing the language used in the communication. Even with the retraction, a student complained to Atlanta television media, prompting the university to issue the public apology.
 
McDade said the university will use the incident to "educate students about the importance of addressing sensitive topics." He also said a two-step approval process will be implemented for all communications with students going forward.
