GAINESVILLE — Through 44 years of coaching and teaching Bruce Miller has seen and accomplished just about everything on a high school football field.
That said, it was by no means easy for Miller, who has led the Red Elephants for the last 16 seasons, to take a step back from the sport that has meant so much to him.
Yet he did just that this week when he announced his retirement from Gainesville after 157 victories, eight region titles, five state semifinal berths and one state title -- the first in GHS football history.
Miller recently took time to sit down with AccessWDUN and Friday Game Night editor Morgan Lee to discuss his reasons for the decision, a lifetime of stellar memories on the gridiron and what the future holds for a coach who has become part of the fabric of Big Red football.
