Fire in Dacula leaves one injured, another dead

Investigators want to know what caused a fatal fire at a mobile home in Dacula Saturday afternoon.

Gwinnett County Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge says firefighters arrived to the home at the 2000 block of Fence Road around 1:30 p.m. He says the trailer was fully engulfed in flames.

He says a 57 year old resident was outside the home and had tried to rescue a 47 year old man trapped inside.

He says emergency personnel transported that man to the hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation.

Once inside the home, Rutledge said firefighters discovered the body of a the other resident who was declared dead on the scene. He said a third resident, also a relative of the victims, was not home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined and under investigation.
