GAINESVILLE — The Chestatee girls basketball team jumped out to a 14-5 first quarter lead and maintained its advantage throughout in a 52-40 win over West Forsyth on Saturday in Gainesville.
Junior forward Callyssa Tyner scored all 10 of her points in the first quarter for the Lady War Eagles (8-10), while senior standout Lindsey Caudell carried the offense the rest of the way, finishing with 19 points, 8 of that in the fourth quarter
Chestatee led 27-17 at the interval.
The Lady War Eagles play host to Blessed Trinity on Tuesday.

Jaycie Bowen socred 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help lead the Lady Leopards (14-3) to a non-region, overtime win on Saturday in Gainesville.
Maddie Thomas also scored 15 points, including three made 3-pointers, while Allison Smith added 10 points and 8 rebounds for Banks County. Amber Williams also chipped in with 9 points.
The Lady Leopards play at Rabun County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Nine players got in on the scoring for the Lady Tigers, as they pulled out the win on Saturday in Dawsonville.
Returning from injury, Kaylee Sticker paced Dawson County with 19 points, while Sophia D'Oliveira added 10. Kati Brady also had 9 and Calli Watson scored 8.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 10-3 first quarter lead and led 30-6 at the half.
Dawson County plays host to Union County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Savannah Kinsey paced the Lady Lions (8-7, 4-1 Region 8-A) with 14 points, as they dropped their first region contest of the season on Saturday.
Maddie Blackburn, Sadie Thrailkill and Tori Taylor each scored 6 points for Lakeview.
The Lady Lions play at Commerce on Tuesday.
