Reward offered for information on shooting outside Gainesville club Aug. 20

A $2,000 reward is now on the table for information related to a shooting outside a Gainesville club on Aug. 20.

Terry Maddox Sr. apparently got into an argument outside Sparkles on Athens Street, and as he tried to leave, somebody opened fire, shooting multiple times at Maddox as he fled the scene, said Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook in an email.

"Investigators are seeking information from individuals who witnessed the incident or may have knowledge of the incident," Holbrook wrote.

Maddox was not injured.

Anyone with information can submit it to Crime Stoppers, the organization offering the reward money, anonymously by calling (404) 577-TIPS (8477), texting "CSP" and the tip to 274-637 or logging on to the agency's website.
