Softball: East Hall edges Chestatee; Stephens defeats North Oconee

The East Hall softball team grabbed an early lead on its way to a 4-3 victory over Chestatee on Monday.

The Lady Vikings scored on a fielder's choice by Kaitlyn Daniel, a single by Peyton Turner, and a single by Carley Cox in the second inning, answering a Chestatee lead in the first inning courtesy an RBI from Hannah Jones.

East Hall took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. 

Steffanie Redmon earned the win for East Hall, pitching 7 innings while giving up three runs, seven hits, and striking out 10 batters. 

Cox went 1-for-4 at the plate as she led the team with two runs batted in. 

Chestatee was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Cheyenne Roper made the most plays with five. 

Beth Eddins went 2 for 3 with a double to help lead Chestatee at the plate. Bailey Mason also doubled and drove in a run for the Lady War Eagles.

NORTH OCONEE 0

Emma Whitfield didn't allow a single run as the Lady Indians (11-4, 4-2 Region 8-AAAA) blanked North Oconee on Monday. Whitfield allowed just two hits and struck out 15. Whitfield struck out Ashley Allen to end the game.

An early lead helped propel Stephens County to victory. Mackenzie Rogers drove in one when she singled in the second inning.

The Lady Indians collected 10 hits. Jasmine Lowery and Kayley Sellers each collected three hits for Stephens County. The Lady Indians did not commit a single error. Natalie Morgan had the most chances in the field with 18.
