Deer and Bear hunting season opening very soon

It is almost time to get out your camo and rosin up those bows for fall hunting season.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources announced the start of archery season is September 9th. Bow season, as hunters call it is a great way for many to get a jump on putting venison in the freezer.

Last year nearly 140,000 hunters bagged upwards of 50,000 deer across the state during archery season. That accroding to DNR records.

Primitive gun (muzzle loader) season starts October 14th, with regular gun season sarting the 20th and running through January. Hunting bear is also legal during these dates.

Don't forget, you need to obtain a hunting license to legal hunt in Georgia. Without, you could easily find yourself behind bars.
