Details emerge on arrest of YouTube’s ‘FPS Russia’ in Franklin County

Officials today released details of a drug arrest that occurred two weeks ago in Franklin County.

On Monday, Aug. 7, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office arrested Kyle Lamar Myers, 31, after he received about 25 grams of butane honey oil, a marijuana concentrate, according to Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey of ARDEO.

Myers received the substance through the U.S. Postal Service in Carnesville, according Posey.

“Myers is also known as ‘FPS RUSSIA’, an internet personality with videos on YouTube,” Posey said.

A quick search of YouTube shows FPSRussia has more than 6.3 million subscribers.

During the execution of a search warrant at Myers’ home, located on Royston Road, Carnesville, Franklin County deputies and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives seized numerous weapons, drug paraphernalia, and a quantity of butane honey oil, according to Posey.

Posey explained that a marijuana concentrate is a highly potent THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) concentrated mass that is most similar in appearance to honey or butter.

Marijuana concentrates contain extraordinarily high THC levels that can range from 40 percent to 80 percent. This form of marijuana can be up to four times stronger in THC content than high-grade or top-shelf marijuana, which normally measures around 20-percent THC levels.

Butane honey oil has a street value of up to $150 per gram compared to $30 for traditional marijuana. Marijuana and marijuana concentrates are illegal in Georgia.

Myers was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance with the intent to distribute (felony), and possession of drug related objects (misdemeanor).

Myers was booked in at the Franklin County Detention Center.
