Woods takes Limited Late Model victory at Winder-Barrow

By Brandon Reed Reporter

Chris Woods dominated Saturday night’s Limited Late Model feature at Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway, leading all 25-laps en route to the victory.

The Statham, Georgia driver started the feature on the pole. After the first start of the race was waved off by officials, Woods jumped to the lead on the second start attempt.

Behind him, Tyler Canup and Ken Lampp put on a back-and-forth battle for second, and Lampp looked time and again for a way to take the position away.

Meanwhile, up front, Woods pulled out to a sizeable lead. The only hiccup came near the halfway point, when the race’s only caution flag flew.

On the restart, Woods again moved out to the lead, leaving Canup and Lampp to fight for second.

When Woods crossed under the checkered flag to take the win, he had built up almost a six second advantage over the field.

Canup managed to hold off Lampp over the closing laps to take second. Jeff Lampp would finish in fourth, with Chad Puckett in fifth.

In other action, Aaron Criswell took the win in the Modified Street feature. Jordan Poole finished in second, with Jacob Jackson in third, Kevin Shaw in fourth and Paige Cox in fifth.

Dustin Cason took home the victory in the Hobby feature, with Chad Stinchcomb in second, Jerome Hanson in third, Andy Barton in fourth and Chris Jones in fifth.

Mark Chancey recorded the victory in the Stock V8 feature. Jeff Casper crossed the finish line in second, followed by Ronnie Poole in third, Trey Pilgrim in fourth and Zach Brown in fifth.

Shane Peppers was the winner in the Stock 4A feature, with Justin Taylor, Allen Cantrell, Roger Cothran and Randy Peppers rounding out the top five.

Grant Roberts scored the win in the Stock 4B feature. Coty Sanders came home in second, with Elliott Brayboy in third, Brandon Cox in fourth and Josh Clark in fifth.
