A new grocery store is planned along the busy Dawsonville Highway commercial corridor in Gainesville and a 65-unit town home development is in the works for South Enota Drive.
Both items are scheduled to go before the city's Planning and Appeals Board August 8.
The grocery store is planned on 6.854 acres near Beechwood Boulevard. According to the application on file with the planning and appeals board, the store would be housed in a 35,962 square foot building and would employ 25-30 workers. The applicant is Lidl US Operations, LLC.
The town house development would be located on a 21.87-acre site on South Enota near Smoky Springs retirement community. JH Homes, Inc.'s application calls for "as many as 14 buildings containing 3-6 town home units per building."
In each case, the applicants are seeking a rezoning of their respective properties.
The planning and appeals board meets at 5:15 at the Gainesville Justice Center on Queen City Parkway.
