Pop star busted for pot in Habersham County

HABERSHAM COUNTY - Officials with the Sheriff's Office confirm that pop star Aaron Carter was arrested for DUI, possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce and drug related objects Saturday night.

Carter's girlfriend, Madison Parker, was with him at the time his vehicle was stopped and was also taken into custody, charged with misdemeanor obstruction, possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce and drug related objects.
 
The arrests occurred on Georgia 385 at Carpenters Cove at approximately 7:55 pm, that according to a media release from Habersham County Sheriff's Captain Floyd Canup. 
 
Canup said Carter was released on bond early Sunday afternoon, while Parker remains in jail.   Canup said she is eligible for bond but, has not done so at this time for unknown reasons.
 
Aaron is the younger brother of  Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter.
