UPDATE: GSP identifies woman killed in 365 crash

Authorities have confirmed one person has been killed in a traffic accident on Georgia 365 near the intersection of Howard Road.

The crash was reported before 1 p.m., according to county emergency dispatchers, and at one point blocked both sides of the highway. The roadway was reopened shortly before 3 p.m.

A GMC Envoy headed south was in the right lane when it spun out, crossing the median into northbound traffic, where it collided with a cement truck driven by Adam Hunter, 27, of Cornelia. Hunter's vehicle went across all lanes of traffic into the southbound guard rail, then drifted back across the southbound lanes into the gore area.

The Envoy driver, 72-year-old Margaret Johns of Alto, died at the scene, according to Sgt. A.J. Allen with the Georgia State Patrol.

Hunter was uninjured in the wreck.

No charges will be filed in the wreck, Allen said, since the Envoy driver was at fault.
