Local company donates $20K worth of equipment to Gainesville-based food bank

Two representatives of MHI, CEO Pat Sain and sales rep Jerry Whitehead delivered a forklift and pallet jack - worth a total of $20,000 - to Georgia Mountain Food Bank Wednesday.  

“We are pleased to make this donation to Georgia Mountain Food Bank in honor of Jerry Whitehead,” said Sain. "When we learned more about GMFB and how passionately they serve needs in the area we knew this was a great way to give back and honor Mr. Whitehead.  Jerry has been a leader in our business and the Gainesville community with a spirit of excellence for over 45 years. We are grateful to make this gift and honor Jerry."

“It is with extremely humble hearts that we accept this incredible donation of a forklift and electric pallet Jack from MHI,”said Kay Blackstock, executive director at GMFB. 

“This gift will literally help GMFB double our warehouse output and increase our efficiencies exponentially,” said Steve Mueller, operations director at GMFB.  “Patrick Sain and Jerry Whitehead along with the entire Material Handling Inc. family are true champions to the Georgia Mountain Food Bank and the continued fight to combat hunger in our communities!" 

MHI is Material Handling Inc. is a supplier of material handling and forklift solutions, warehouse products and repair and maintenance, serving North Georgia, Middle Tennessee, Southeast Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. In addition to Gainesville, it also has branches in Dalton as well as Tennessee and Kentucky.
