The body of a Gainesville man was found in Lake Lanier Saturday afternoon.
Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Wilbanks said the body of 36-year-old Thomas Wayne Chapman was found by a boater just after 2:30 south of Don Carter State Park in the north end of the county.
Wilbanks said there are no obvious signs of trauma or foul play, but said the body appears to have likely been in the water for more than a day.
The body is being sent to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy. The Hall County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
