United Community Bank’s Financial Advisor, Jay Burkett, recently supported a local nonprofit, Woodlands Camp, with a $500 donation. Burkett was randomly selected at a Sales and Service luncheon, an award ceremony that recognizes branch teams and individuals for outstanding performance and commitment to service. Burkett was awarded Top Financial Advisor during the fourth quarter of 2016.
“I am honored to be selected as Top Financial Advisor and grateful to have the opportunity to support an organization of my choice with this donation,” said Burkett. “I admire the efforts of Woodlands Camp, and believe its mission of inspiring our youth is gratifying and important to our community.”
Located in the foothills of North Georgia, Woodlands Camp is a faith based camp for junior, middle and high school students that also provides week-long retreats for all ages throughout the year. The camp currently hosts nearly 3,000 youth through its summer camps each summer. Woodlands also has a retreat center available to private groups during the spring, fall and winter season each year.
Burkett is based in Cleveland, Ga. but also serves the North Georgia region in Gainesville, Murrayville and Oakwood. He earned a bachelor of arts in business administration from the University of Georgia and is a certified financial planner. With more than 15 years of experience providing financial services, his expertise includes planning for income taxes, insurance, retirement, investments and estates.
