Truett baseball set for AAC Tournament as No. 6 Seed

By AccessWDUN Staff

CLEVELAND — The Truett McConnell baseball team will head up to Kingsport, Tennessee, on Tuesday in preparation for Wednesday's Opening Round game against No. 21 Bryan College. The Bears will be the No. 6 seed in the tournament.

The tournament format consists of eight teams in two pools of four. In pool play, it is a double-elimination within pool play. The two pool winners will then meet in a winner-take-all championship game to determine the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament champion. TMU will play out of Pool B with the second-seeded Point Skyhawks, the third-seeded Bryan Lions and the seventh-seeded Milligan Buffaloes.

Tennessee Wesleyan and Point shared regular season champion honors, but the Bulldogs earned the No. 1 seed after sweeping Point earlier this year.

The Bears will play at 12 p.m. against Bryan on Wednesday. Live stats will be available to fans for free. Live video will be provided courtesy of the AAC Digital Network on a subscription basis of $7.99 per game or $19.99 for an all-tournament pass.
