LOGANVILLE — Loganville moved one win from clinching the Region 8-AAAAA title after a dominant 9-1 win over Buford on Monday.
The Red Devils (17-10, 9-1 Region 8-AAAAA) jumped on Buford (16-10, 8-2) with six runs in the second inning. They added three more in third.
Buford will open a home-and-home series against Walnut Grove at home on Wednesday. The Wolves will close out their season against Walnut Grove on Friday on the road. They will need a sweep of the Warriors and need Johnson to sweep Loganville in their series to win the region title.
However, a Walnut Grove sweep of Buford would drop the Wolves to third in the final region standings.
