COLUMBIA, S.C. — Gainesville's Hunter Mallard won the pole vault event Saturday at the 25th Annual Bojangles' Track & Field Classic at Spring Valley High School.
Mallard finished with a leap of 16-feet to best the other 66 competitors in the field.
Sam Blummer of Eastside, Griffin Kowal of New Kent, and Ben Watson of York, all tied for second with jumps of 15-0.
It was the only points for the Red Elephants, who tied for 19th in the 80-team field.
