HELEN — The Truett McConnell women's golf team is set to host the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference Spring Women's Championship this Monday and Tuesday. The tournament will be held at Innsbruck Golf Course in Helen.
The Bears will host 10 other teams from the AAC, including fall champion and nationally ranked No. 14 SCAD Atlanta, No. 20 Milligan and receiving votes St. Andrews, along with Bryan, Columbia, Montreat, Point, Reinhardt, Tennessee Wesleyan and Union.
Due to inclement weather scheduled to hit the Helen area Monday, there have been some contingency plans put in place for the tournament. The plan is to play the tournament in two 18-hole rounds, but the tournament staff, along with Innsbruck, has a plan in place to play a nine-hole round on Monday and 27 holes on Tuesday should the weather get really bad.
